Galadriel

This doll was originally Barbie - Princess of England. I removed almost 1/2 of her hair, she got a new perm and a face repaint. (I gave up the likeness to Ms. Cate Blanchett.... :-(()
The mirror dress is finished (it is pretty heavy...) But the crown isn't made and the cloak...

Description: One piece dress for the "belly button" Barbie.

  • The nylon lace dress has one-piece bodice (shoulder seams don't exist) with a low pointed waist and the inset sleeves. The skirt consist of 2 pieces only (the front and the back piece, the doll CAN dress it up; but if you don't believe me, feel free and make back central seam....) and has a short train. Entire dress is beaded with tiny clear and iridescent beads, it fastens back with hooks and eyes.

The neckline is lined in width cca 7 mm with a white sheer monofilament, so you can see the doll's body under the lace. To the edge of the neckline and to the seam between monofilament and lining are sewn on little glass pearls.

  • White silk lining is attached cca 7 mm under the neckline and the skirt is ankle-length and much narrower.

  • The girdle is made from yellowish crepe-de-chine. It is embroidered with beige and iridescent threads, tiny crystal beads and iridescent sequins.

  • The brooch I made from 2 pieces of fine silver-coated wire, 6 little silver leaves and a little orange shell, painted with mother-of-pearl nail polish. I attached the wires to the shell with 2-part epoxy putty and then glued the leaves with a quicksetting glue. After drying I painted it with clear nail-polish.

  • The laced up high shoes I made from a golden lame and lined it with a pale yellow finest ponge. The soles were made from 2-part epoxy putty.
