Three-part
outfit for modern type ("belly button") Barbie. The doll
has her face repainted and her hair was permed and styled. If you
are interested, what is the blue thing in her pocket - it is a
screwdriver :-)
You can see this costume as is only in episode "Serenity";
it is very popular among fans, so I could use their research and
analysis (Thank you very much, Maggie
and Ryla !)
- The sky blue jacket with a mandarin collar was
made from a polyester Chinese brocade and except sleeves is
lined with a light blue habotai.
- The jumpsuit is from a olive green raw silk, it is
stitched with elastic under the belt, and closes front with
a miniature zipper. The Chinese symbols "love" and
"energy" (I am sorry, but I really was not able to
identify, what Kaylee had written on her jumpsuit) are drawn
with black felt tip pen. The bear patch is cut from a brown
duvetyne, glued to the trouser leg, attached with buttonhole
stitch (brown) and then outlined with black stem stitch. The
"grease" on the pockets are drops an acryllic colour.
- Under the jumpsuit is the hand painted body (bodysuit)
, made from a fine white t-shirt. It fastens back with snaps.
The whole outfit is handsewn, the boots are from Mattel, the
zipper and the buttons are from Tiny Zippers.
